I recently made the trek to Georgia for the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. It was great seeing friends again, but I couldn’t help but notice that most of the speakers and workshops were geared much less toward working for a publication and much more toward freelancing and making it on your own. I guess that says a lot about the current state of the industry…

It wasn’t the Nikon 600mm lens or the Canon 5D Mk II catching people’s eyes…it was Rob’s $40 plastic Fujifilm camera (that seems to have the monopoly on instant film since Polaroid stopped making theirs) that had everyone amazed. I swear, everyone who saw this camera had to play with it!
